    Organizational structure: WAA Cameroon has three structural organs - The General Assembly of Members (GAM), The Administrative Council and the Executive Secretariat). These are the organs that initiate major decisions in the organization. The General Assembly of Members (GAM) : It is the orientation and decision making organ of WAA Cameroon. It meets annually. It: a- Reviews Annual Reports including the activities of WAA Cameroon for each calendar year b-.Determines the annual subscription for members d.-Plans for the coming year. e.-Appreciates audit reports and other constructive comments f.-Deals with any other competent business g.-Elect Members of the Administrative Council ( AC) The Administrative Council : According to statutory provisions, this council is made up of 11- 15 members elected from members of the the GAM. At moment, the Council comprises 11 members 08 of who are women. The council meets three times a year and prepares the Standing Orders as appropriate to assist the conduct of the organization’s affairs and facilitate the work of the administrative team. The council members vote an executive committee made up of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, Treasurer and Financial Secretary all of who must be females, and two advisers. At moment, all members of the Executive Committee are women. The Board and the executive Committee execute such functions as directed by the GAM THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT Comprise of staff of the organisation headed by an Executive Director who must be female. The staff is recruited by the Council The Executive Director is answerable and accountable to the council to which she reports. The functions of Executive Director and other staff of the organization are specified in the Internal Rules and Regulations and the Staff Handbook of WAA Cameroon. At present, the organization has a staff membership of 12 - ( 09 full time, 03 Part time) At moment, we have 04 volunteers. The number of volunteers may increase depending on the activities in hand. The staff run the daily programmes of the organization and is represented in board and council meetings by the Director on consultative powers.
    Number and type of members: WAA Cameroon currently has a registered membership of 983 women and 200 men, making a total of 1183 members. Membership is open to any moral person and/or physical persons above 18, who may voluntarily decide to be part of Women in Alternative Action. WAA Cameroon has the following membership • Founding members; • Active members; • Associate members; • Good will Members . • Sympathizers. 1. Founding members are moral and/or physical persons, who conceived, elaborated and created the organisation. Founding and Active Members called to defend the image of the organization 2. Active members are moral and/or physical persons who have adhered to the Articles of Incorporation of WAA Cameroon and admitted by the Administrative Council. Both Founding and Active members are subject to completing the official application form with a payment of an enrolment fee 5000 FCFA and an annual subscription of at least 50,000 FCFA 3. Associate members are moral and/or physical persons who have signed a convention WAA Cameroon that defines the modalities of their collaboration. 4. Good will Members are moral and/or physical persons on whom this title is conferred owing to their voluntary contributions. 5. Sympathizers are moral and/or physical persons who have accepted to morally, spiritually or otherwise support the work of WAA Cameroon without adhering to the Articles of Incorporation. b) Continuing membership is dependent upon payment of the annual subscription determined each year by members voting at the annual general meeting. This is payable within four weeks following every such meeting. c) All bona fide members are entitled to attend all general meetings and are entitled to vote. d) Members must abide to the requirements of the bye-laws and standing orders issued from time to time by the board. e) They are entitled to vote and / or are eligible to be voted into its elective offices. f) No member is to use his/her membership to further individual gain – financial or otherwise. 10. Termination of Membership a) The board for good and sufficient reason can terminate the membership of any individual or group of individuals. b) Prior to a recommendation that an individual’s or group’s membership be terminated, he/she or representative of the group is given the right to an oral hearing before a panel of the board before a final decision is made.
