Mission statement:
Created on the 24th of January 2010 in Lomé, “Communication and Integral Development” – « Communication et Développement Integral » (CDI-TOGO) is a civil society organization (Receipt N°0848/MATDCL-SG-DLPAP-DOCA) which purpose is to promote integral development of persons and peoples by communication and culture. This organization intends to find and relay information by different means of communication in favor of development and well-being of individuals and peoples. To achieve its objectives, CDI-TOGO will take into account modern but also traditional means of communication to reach all social strata, with a preference for those are most marginalized, disadvantaged or simply people in grassroots communities both rural and urban areas. Of course, human is at the heart of the shares of CDI-TOGO which wants to make every man and every woman, a convinced actor of his own development. Our vision is to put the traditional and modern communication at the service of integral and sustainable development of peoples: communicate, diffuse the integral human development through a participative and active method of peoples concerned. The objectives of CDI-TOGO include: • Promote and encourage responsible use of media, • Promote reading, literature and film buffs, • Promote moral and traditional values, • Promote artistic, cultural, entertainment and education values through the media, • Work for a real and integral development of peoples, in building a positive globalization, etc. To achieve its objectives, the organization is considering a number of actions: • Establish libraries and/or reading centers for the promotion of reading, literature and languages; • Create cinemas’ rooms to promote films; • Organize exchange meetings: seminars, conferences, workshops, symposia; • Organize meetings of training on communication technologies and for an active and responsible consumption of media contents; • Organize screenings of films (fiction, documentary); • Attend meetings, events and cultural festivals; • Make researches and produce documents or books and training information, documentary films on cultures; • Maintain cooperative relationships with national or international organizations whose aims and interests are similar to the Association’s.
