Mission statement:	"International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea" is a non-governmental non-profit organization established by the common initiative of the President of Romania, H.E. Traian Basescu, and the President of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, on March 4, 2009. The Organization intends to contribute, in the spirit of equality and mutual respect, to the development of the reciprocal agreement and collaboration between the countries and peoples in the area of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea in such fields as democratization, justice and human rights, fight against terrorism, organized crime, economy, reducing of poverty, science, ecology, education, culture, religious tolerance in order to assure a durable and efficient cooperation between the countries in the area. The BSCSIF objectives, according to the legal provisions to be applied and the Statute are: •Supporting of the efforts of the United Nation Organization, European Union, Council of Europe, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, OCEM, GUAM and other influential international and national organizations, which have as objectives the assuring of peace, mutual understanding and economic development in the countries situated in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea region; •Monitoring and observation of the democratization process development in the states situated in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea region; •Promoting and Encouraging respect for human rights and liberties, freedom of mass media •Cooperation in the field of security; •Cooperation both with governmental and non-governmental structures in the field of fighting against terrorism, drug dependence, organized crime, human trafficking; •Active supporting of the programs within the projects TRACECA and INOGATE, in order to restore the transport channel on the road of "The Great Silk Road"; •Supporting the research in the area of alternative energy sources development; •Promoting of the initiatives and actions performed to improve and consolidate partnership relationships among the entrepreneurs and business groups’ members from the countries situated in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea region in order to strengthen economic cooperation; •Mobilizing of national and international resources in order to improve the economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian relationships among the countries situated in the Black Sea- Caspian Sea region; •Improving of mutual understanding and trust, contributing to the consolidation of dialogue, collaboration and friendship relationships among the countries in the Black Sea-Caspian Sea region; •Consolidation and development of political, economic and cultural citizens’ rights - and of the basic human rights and of the managing institutions according to the recognized norms of international law; •Promoting of tolerance and understanding, mutual respect for the cultural patrimony, traditions, religion and other values of peoples from the Black Sea and Caspian Sea region; •The unification of intellectual potential and possibilities of the BSCSIF members in the implementation of programs and projects in order to reach peace, security and wellness of peoples and citizens; •Promoting a healthy way of life within the communities in this area; •Supporting the efforts to protect the environment, to promote the norms and international values in the ecological field.

Organizational structure:	The headquarters of the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea is located in Bucharest, and there are also three branches in Istanbul (Turkey), Moscow (Russian Federation) and Brussels (Belgium). For the year-2012 strategic extention of the BSCSIF is with new member-countries, such as Belarus, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. The General Assembly is the leading body of the Organization, consisting out of all the Members (physical and juridical persons). The Board of Directors is a leading and collective managing body, assuring the execution do the Resolutions taken by the General Assembly. The President of the Association is assigned by the Board of Directors, by rotation, for a period of 2 (two) years out of the members of the Board of Directors, according to the rules of the Statute. The General Secretary, is proposed for assignment by the President of the Organization and is named in this position by decision of the Board of Directors.
Number and type of members:	The Members of the Organization are juridical or physical, Romanian or foreign persons, recognizing the Statute, and upon their free consent, agree to put in common, and without any right of reimbursement, material contribution, knowledge and contribution in labour, to communicate and cooperate, in an organized manner, for realizing aims and the objectives foreseen in the Statute. The organization has the following categories of members: a) Founder Members; b) Members (juridical or physical persons); c) Members of Honour; The members of the organization are academics, scientists and distinguished public figures, at the moment there are 70 members, among them 13 juridical persons –big influential companies specializing in different areas. The amount of members is constantly increasing.
Affiliation with NGO networks:	BSCSIF is cooperating with a number of NGOs from the member-countries in the above mentioned areas of activities.
