Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Frankfurt School) is the leading private Business School and advisory institute in Germany with more than 50 years experience in consulting, qualification, project implementation, and training services. Our mission is to advance national and international business practices through academic programmes and research, executive education, corporate services, and advisory activities.
Frankfurt School is a non-profit, limited liability company with almost 400 employees. We generated EUR 61 million revenues in 2010. Frankfurt School is directed and supervised by leading German commercial banks such as Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, BHF-Bank, and Bayer¬ische Hypo- und Ver¬eins¬bank. The school is governed by an Executive Board (led by President and CEO Professor Dr. Udo Steffens) and is supported by a Board of Trustees, providing guidance on spe¬cialist issues.
International Advisory Services
Our International Advisory Services (IAS) department is committed to improve financial mar¬kets and to increase access to finance for small enterprises and low-income populations. We work al¬most exclusively in developing and transition coun¬tries as well as emerging markets. Among our clients are the major international and development finance institutions (e.g. KfW, EBRD, EIB, ADB, AfDB, World Bank, IFC), bilateral and multilateral donor organisations (e.g. EU, UNDP, UNEP, AFD, GTZ), and non-government organisations. Beneficiaries of consulting and trainings are primarily banks, microfinance institutions, potential borrowers and investors, and other stakeholders of the financial community.
Frankfurt School’s IAS manages technical assistance (TA) facilities and directly implements TA pro¬jects. Our customised TA measures target the entire range of commercial banking busi¬ness, such as: strategic management, change processes, implementation of foreign credit lines, product development, risk management, marketing, and management of development finance investment funds. We give advice to policy makers and regulators to develop integrated schemes that are adapted to specific market needs. IAS furthermore designs and conducts financial sector stu¬dies and market surveys worldwide.
IAS is structured in seven core competence centres, whereas one is exclusively dedicated to Sus¬tai¬nable Energy Finance. Accordingly, we assist financial institutions in developing a business seg¬¬ment for financing of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy invest¬ments. Besides strategy and pro¬duct development, marketing, and adaptation of procedures and reporting, we put a special focus on capacity building through class-room and on-the-job trainings.
