    Organizational structure: The organization is governed by an executive president, a chief financial officer and a general secretary. All financial activity is controlled by a fiscal council of three members, audited by a qualified external professional and approved annually by the general assembly. A board composed of eight members review and approve major decisions. Thematic committees are responsible for special projects such as seminars or the development of educational and awareness campaigns.
    Number and type of members: Founding Members: 14 (Executive Board: 3 members; Deliberative Council: 8 members and; fiscal council: 3 members) Associated Members: 331 (health care professionals, environmentalists, researchers, etc.). Institutional Members: 9 (hospitals and other health organizations, universities, research and public health organizations). HHP is just starting to seek formal membership, but has been working with over 50 partner organizations since 2008
