Mission statement:	GITPA is a non profit organization under the regime of association in France. It aims at raising consciousness on the situations of indigenous peoples in the world. It provides information on world indigenous issues for a francophone audience, and for that goal develops a large network between indigenous peoples organizations and academics in Europe and the 5 continents. Most of its work goes towards peoples in francophone regions of the world, where indigenous peoples develop a dialogue path for the recognition of their rights. GITPA develops information and communication on the Human rights and the right to self-determination. It analyzes the actual situation and legal frameworks regarding land rights and the respect of Free Prior and informed Consent, as well as the conflicts that regard the respective interpretation and implementation of the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. It is preoccupied by the respect of indigenous peoples cultural integrity and their right to development, to a sustainable development. Supportive to indigenous peoples peaceful claims, GITPA aims at opening a way for a mutual understanding and intends to make their cause globally, regionally and nationally understood by mainstream societies. This is why it has chosen to build a plateform and network of communication and delivers a Newsletter to a very large public, including the media.
