    Organizational structure: Gears of Change, which receives 501(c)(3) status through Global Justice Ecology Project, is run by a small staff and supported by member volunteers. Our Board of Advisors is composed of academics, representatives of NGOs and environmental organizers. Currently, we employ a 5 person staff, based out of our headquarters in Burlington, Vermont. Currently our staff is engaged in research, education and outreach, grant-seeking, and forming alliances and partnerships with other organizations with similar goals and work.
    Number and type of members: Our member base consists of an informal network of volunteers- in New England, nationally, and internationally- who help us with outreach, information sharing, and building momentum towards Rio+20.
