Mission statement:
OUR MISSION To sensitize youth of the various localities in the Niger-Delta for skills development, apprenticeship, and entrepreneurship; to conduct pre-examination sensitization in the secondary schools, and to mobilize funds for the socio-economic empowerment of young men and women through micro financing and health insurance. ¿ Mobilize and educate youth of school age on the gains of hard work ¿ Encourage acquisition of relevant skills along side formal education at all levels. ¿ Provide Skills training for young men and women through YOWEC’s open apprenticeship scheme. ¿ Mobilize and administer soft loans to young men & women for micro-enterprises and market gardening. ¿ Carry out anti-examination malpractice campaign in schools. ¿ Promote sanity and moral values among school age youth. ¿ Re-orientate the minds of young Nigerians in exploring and harnessing their creative potentials for wealth creation. ¿ Collaborate with other organizations with similar objectives towards achieving our goal. ¿ Replace street trading among youths with sustainable skills development. ¿ Dissuade child labour. ¿ Build a resource center for youth and women development. ¿ Lead the initiation of a workable health insurance Scheme for women of the rural communities. Mission Statement To create economic empowerment for 13,700 women by 2022, to the extent that they have a means of regular income outside of their husbands and a third party dependant. Objectives ¿ To provide access to information about job opportunities and vacancies. ¿ To provide scholarship intervention to final year near school dropouts students. ¿ To provide entreprenueral skills, work related trainings for women. ¿ To provide access to soft loans, micro credit and financial education for aspiring women entrepreneur. ¿ To provide a platform/opportunities for female role models to and success stories to share experiences .This we will achieve by publishing a quarterly magazine. Women development International Magazine. ¿ To engage in advocacy, for women’s economic empowerment through lobbying, sponsoring of bills, for women’s economic empowerment. Strategy 1. Print Media (Women Development International Magazine.) 2. Website. 3. Using the magazine as a tool to raise funds, through award ceremonies, marketing of advert pages, fund raising dinners etc. 4. Creating a desk for grant sourcing 5. Creating an avenue for women’s voices to be heard and interfacing between government and women communities. 6. Engage in large enlightenment or strategic outreaches to women, so they know the resources available for them on our online and offline media. 7. Building the capacity of YOWEC.
