    Year of registration: 2005
    Organizational structure: The EAFF secretariat is led by a Chief Executive Officer, who is a Kenyan national. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors, which consists of eleven (11) elected farmer leaders from the member organizations. The current board was elected to a four-year term in 2009, and consists of six men, and five women from Burundi (1), Democratic Republic of Congo (2), Kenya (2), Rwanda (2), Tanzania (2) and Uganda (2). All board members are nationals from national from eastern Africa. The board meets three times a year. The board reports to the EAFF Council, which receives and approves the annual report and audit reports. The number of representatives per member organization varies from one (1) to four (4). All council members are nationals from countries in eastern Africa. The congress meets every four years, and consists of representatives from each country. The congress elects the board.
