Organizational structure: Board of Trustees President of VGI Commitees - Curriculum Planning and Institute Funding Viridis Graduate Institute recognizes that all of life's systems: personal, social, ecological, economic, and mechanistic are interdependent and linked through multiple synergistic relationships. As such, we have developed and implemented an organizational model based upon this interconnectivity of systems to approve and revise academic and educational policies, and make informed decisions, regarding all aspects of the school. This includes external participation from individuals and organizations outside the school to offer constructive critique and help maintain transparency. Viridis Graduate Institute's progressive organization implies a change of focus, design and procedure in overall education and governance that includes transparency, team member expertise, openness to criticism, acknowledgement of psychological dimension to the institute, diversity in institute, motivation, credibility and having available resources. Our institutional culture acknowledges differences and enhances human dignity, social opportunities, ecological, economic and social ethics and justice. In this context, our Board of Trustees, Institution Committees, advisors, faculty, staff, and students are empowered to understand the interconnected events responsible for policies, projects, and programs. Assessment of institutional governance situations and events involves: • A systemic detailed annual review, which includes a self evaluation as an educational institute • Monthly assessment meetings, • Monthly Committee meetings • Communication among all Committees in which the intimate, interactive, social, and biophysical dimensions are considered and are supportive of sustainable and fruitful resolutions. Viridis recognizes that as an institution, we are not a stand-alone entity. Institutions interact with, affect and are effected by other organizations, agencies and institutions along the same levels and across different scales (from local to regional to global). The consequences of this relationship and how to manage Viridis Graduate Institute for effective and coherent local and global environmental governance are major agenda components of our governance and policy decisions. This distinguishes us from traditional governance.
