Organizational structure: SOTHAWACA engages in various activities that show-cases our visions as well as address our challenges. We use our extensive knowledge in children and societal issues to map out strategies that helps children improve their profile. We develop and disseminate programs that foster children development to getting deeper commitment to values from parents and guidance. We have exhibited a high level of unequaled experiences in imparting skills and commitment to values of children. We have been consistent in inculcating life skills to not just the children but also to their parents and caregivers. We hold our Stakeholders Forum for parents in a given community and the police about the safety of our children. Not too long ago, we undertook a 5 Days program in conjunction with the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism #reportwomen #thevoicesofwomenintheruralareasmustbeheard. After this social research program, we decided to start a program called the Train the Trainer (TTT) that would aid in equipping all with skills and knowledge required to effectively carry out the objectives of our program. Our area of focus was on Child development programs; Child health and Nutrition programs; Child care and support programs and family strengthening programs. The core of our child development program addressed the survival, mental, physical, emotional and psychosocial development of the indigent child. Through this program, we send children back to school, help improve their performance and provide them with the necessary innovative and educative tools. Our Train the Trainer approach incorporates various teacher training programs towards improving children’s learning outcomes. We found that in our cause of investigating that so many children eligible for primary school education were out of school due to poverty thereby making indigent children drop-out. Our Child mentoring program is aimed at giving care and attention to children especially the girl child through teaching, mentoring, training, coaching and counseling. It is to serve as a platform for the transformation of the indigent children because mentoring of a child will help the child to develop essential skills that will help them realize their potentials and dreams. Mentor-ship is a platform for raising great kids. We engage in sensitization Seminars and Campaigns on a very regular basis. This is due to the widespread of the trend of the lack of good parenting and child follow-up, peer pressure amongst children and youth in our society, emotional instability, teenage pregnancies and gross ignorance engraved in the decision making measures of our teenagers in schools especially in the secondary/post-primary schools. In addition to this, we offer sensitization programs on Sex, HIV/AIDS, support and counseling sessions confidentially to combat the fast deteriorating dilemma for thousands of women and children across the grass root communities where we operate from. Our team also educates women and children especially the girl-child on the necessary life skills and medical counseling sessions on regular health issues encountered. This we do in collaboration with the Health Services Initiative, the Nigeria Medical Association (Edo State Chapter) and the State Ministry of Health. Our Special Project Beneficiaries Include: a.Young girls and Women victims of sexual and gender based violence; b. Victims of Human Trafficking/Sex trafficking especially child prostitution; c. Widows; d. Married women and single ladies in general seeking avenues for empowerment in all its ramifications as to boost personal fulfillment and productivity.
