Promundo While separately registered as independent non-profit organizations in the United States, Brazil, Portugal, and Rwanda, Promundo’s offices operate as one organization with a shared mission statement, objectives and communications and advocacy. Collectively, Promundo has more than 50 staff working across the five countries with expertise in applied research, training, and program development around engaging men and boys in gender equality. Leadership structure Promundo-US’s senior management team consists of an International Director, a Deputy Director of International Programs, Deputy Director of US Programs, and a Director of Finance and Operations. Board of Directors Promundo-US has a nine-member Board of Directors, made up of key nationally and internationally recognized researchers, advocates and individuals with experience in the areas of gender equality, masculinities, child development and sexual and reproductive health. Please see attachments for individual Board of Director member bios. The board meets at least twice annually with extraordinary board meetings held as necessary. Promundo-US has term limits of six years for directors. The board has the responsibility to: (1) hire and review the performance of the Executive Director; (2) approve annual budgets; (3) approve and review annual work plans; (4) approve and review strategic plans, usually three years in duration; and (5) provide overall oversight for legal and financial matters. In addition to these formal duties, board members also, informally, provide contacts with funders, and assist in hiring of senior staff. |

Promundo-US currently has 17 staff on payroll with 1 new staff member expected. There are two temporary staff positions located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with one more staff expected to be hired. There are no other recent or expected changes to leadership, governance, structure or staff. |
