Organizational structure: KITUO has several governing bodies: the Assembly, Board of Trustees (BoT), Board of Directors (BoD) and an Executive Director (ED) who manages the organization as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In addition, KITUO has a team of coordinators that include the Deputy Director and officers. Senior organizational leadership, mainly the board of directors provides policy and strategic direction, as well as monitor and evaluate the progress of KITUO. The strategic leadership function seeks to provide informed decision, policy directions and ensure it leaves a good legacy. In this regard this function spearheads the debate on local philanthropy using the Justice House Project as a case study. It embraces an all inclusive leadership that recognizes the leadership capacity and responsibilities of everyone in the system. The strategic leadership also ensures an institutionalized succession plan to facilitate stability of its operation in the event that some of the personnel especially the top management leaves the organization.
