Organizational structure: |
We have a staff of 7 (3.5 FTE) who work to train and empower volunteers and fellowships to take on leadership positions in campaigns and educational events. Our Board of Directors oversees the Executive Director, and the Executive Director oversees the staff. All of our programming is oriented toward membership participation in healing spaces, spiritual reclamation work, political advocacy, and education. Wherever we work, whether in schools or in the socio-cultural realm, we partner with advisors who are members of the communities most affected by the issues so that our work is reflective of the priorities of those we seek to serve. |
Number and type of members: |
Soulforce has an open-membership policy because we don't believe that financial resources should be a barrier to participation. People can participate - the central feature of self-identifying as a member - in a variety of ways: longterm training fellowships (about 200 members and alumni), online learning and advocacy (about 400 per year), workshops and trainings (about 1,500 per year), social media followership (about 5,000 per year), and donorship (about 500 per year). We align opportunities for participation with our members' readiness for leadership and seek new ways for members to participate every month so that they can learn more about the organization, our message, and our cultural practices. Member participation is a measure of our success and vibrancy. |
