Organizational structure: |
The management structure utilized by the BCANDS is that of a traditional hierarchy system, with the BCANDS communities and clients at the head of the overall organizational chart. Ultimate responsibility to oversee the operations of the Society rests with the elected BCANDS Board of Directors who is granted their authority from the Society’s membership. The composition of the BCANDS Board of Directors consists of Aboriginal representatives from various locations within British Columbia. Board members typically serve a two year term pursuant to the BCANDS by-laws and BCANDS Board of Directors Policy. BCANDS Board member terms are staggered to ensure that at all times there are at least 50% of the Board serving as returning Board members. The BCANDS Board of Directors meet bi-monthly with senior management or more frequently, as required, to ensure that they are adequately updated, informed and knowledgeable on the overall operations, financial position and progress on strategic directions engaged in by the Society. |
