Fundraising Director Director of Communication International Programmes Director Friends of Trump UK Trustees Organisation Profile Background/History A friend of Trump UK (FOT) is a registered international network of volunteers, advocating for good governance around the world. FOTUK exists to increase citizen participation in governance through Advocacy, capacity building and civic education in order to build a more informed civil populace and a democratic State. It was established in 2015 when Trump formally announced his candidacy on June 16, 2015, with a campaign rally and speech at Trump Tower in New York City. In his speech, The campaign slogan was announced as "Make America Great Again “Trump declared that he would self-fund his presidential campaign, and would refuse any money from donors and lobbyists. Mission Statement The Organisational Mission statement of Friends of Trump UK is stated thus; Increase citizen participation in governance, through advocacy, capacity building and civic education in order to build a more informed civil populace and a democratic State ‘’across the world and aiding victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and other disasters. Vision Statement The Vision of Friends of Trump UK is to ensure that; People-centred democracy, where citizens are empowered to participate and have access to resources and government is accountable, responsive and transparent, and plays a pivotal role in promoting peace, stability and democracy in the region ’’ FOTUK will work with key partners including international NGOs and government Ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to effectively deliver programs. The identified Programming areas have been classified as follows; Gender Equality, Democracy and Good Governance (DGG), Justice Security and Human Rights (JSHR), and Health. The organizations programs are underlined by three themes: Freedom, Democracy and Gender equality. As the organisation’s strategies evolve, efforts have been made to increase its research and publications as an evidence based tool for advocacy and governance reform interventions. FOTUK has the necessary technical and administrative capacities to carry out citizens focused research an assessment of service delivery. Its human and technical resources are among the WORLD best in providing the following: • Research and publication • Outreach, evidence -based advocacy and campaigns • Public Policy input and analysis • Workshops, seminars, Conferences and public lectures nationwide • Capacity Building Trainings and mentoring of women leaders • National and international networking and coalition building • Monitoring Government Institutions agencies and processes • Election Monitoring • Supporting commissions of Inquiry and investigative panels • promoting democratic dialogue and citizen’s engagement through seminar series • Providing local resource content and inputs on national governance for researchers nationally and internationally. FOTUK will work towards: Field projects and offices aiding victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and other disasters. Developing a partnership between civil society and government based on dialogue, consultation and collaboration. Promoting dialogue, consultation and networking amongst civil society. Sensitizing public on democracy and good governance, which enable them to participate in the evolving political process? Increasing public understanding of basic Human Rights principles, with emphasis on women’s and children’s rights.
