Mission statement:	== Fighting the production and trafficking of falsified, substandard, and unlicensed medical products for a better world. == Since its creation in 2010, the International Institute of Research against counterfeit medicines (IRACM) has developed, and taken numerous training, prevention and communications actions to tackle the issue. Nevertheless, during IRACM-initiated container interception operations, local judicial institutions were not able to fully use the information they gathered to track down suspects and put in action mutual assistance channels. Furthermore, the criminals involved were not always prosecuted, even though the latter were referred to public prosecutors. == In many countries, it appeared government awareness was at best limited and current national laws, when available, were not always adapted. Numerous states were lacking adequate strategies to fight this phenomenon. It is the reason why IRACM recently invested in both the political and legislative space. == In addition to political outreach, IRACM is developing efficient model laws and promoting training programs for judges and prosecutors. This approach, favoring daily and efficient inter-State cooperation is currently rolled out on a regional level. Achievements in Western Africa and initial feedback from our upcoming operation in Mekong confirm that we have made the right choices.
