Mission statement:	The Association for Women's Career Development in Hungary (AWCDH) founded in 2003, aims to promote and reconcile women’s employment while balancing the needs of family life. To this end it is essential that we foster a dialogue between the legislative, the government, the corporate and the non-profit spheres as well as higher education in cooperation with Hungarian and international experts and NGOs both on the cross-border, EU and UN levels. In pursuit of its objectives, the AWCDH looks to adopt all positive foreign best practices within a Hungarian framework, while at the same time it presents exemplary Hungarian practices abroad by utilizing its network within the European Union and the United Nations. The AWCDH has been granted the opportunity to take part in the work of UN/ECOSOC as the first Hungarian NGO in “Special consultative status with UN-ECOSOC”, awarded in 2009. This recognition renders our efforts in the field of European relations and global issues like women’s equality, women’s rights, sustainability, and demographic change all the more effective. We present good practices of successful work-life balance with special focus on mothers with young children, women over 55, rural women, fresh graduates, and women with disabilities. The AWCDH has, in the past twenty years, organized about 50 international conferences, numerous meetings and workshops. We would like to highlight a few: we organized the World Conference of Hungarian Women in Parliament in 2007, the March for Disabled Women conference series between 2006-2010, the Women for Sustainable Development - Women's Role in Rural Development international conference in 2012 and the Hungarian-Jewish Women's Life Paths international conference in honor of the Hungarian Holocaust Remembrance Year - 2014. Since 2009, we have regularly participated in CSW NGO Forums. In 2023 we organized the “Women, Families, Careers - Digitalization in service of work-life balance" in person parallel event at the UN Church Center on March 16, 2023. This year for the 17th time we will announce our "Best Workplace for Women” Call and Award on 8th March 2024 which has received recognition at EU level. (www.bestworkplaceforwomen.com). We have also received positive international acceptance for our "Women’s Career for a Lifetime” program (since 2009). At the UN we have been working together with INPEA and other NGOs from all over the world in the interest of older people and take part in the advocacy for the UN Convention for the Rights of Older People. Within the framework of EU adult learning programs, (Grundtvig and Erasmus +), we have carried out research and training projects since 2013. Currently we are participating as Partner in the “Women, Families, Careers - Digital Solutions in Adult Learning” KA210-ADU-Small-scale partnership in adult education Erasmus+ project (2023-2024) In the EU we participate in 4 COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Actions providing the gender dimension. At the EU level we participate in the following COST Actions: CA22167 2023-2027 - Participatory Approaches with Older Adults (PAAR-net) CA21107 2022-2026 - Work inequalities in later life redefined by digitalization (DIGI-net) CA19136 2020-2024 - International Interdisciplinary Network on Health and Wellbeing in an Age-friendly Digital World. (NET4AGE-FRIENDLY). We implemented two research projects funded by the Visegrad Fund in 2020-2022: “Women, Families, Careers - a Civil Society Forum in the V4 Spirit" “Women, Families, Careers – Effects of the Pandemic on Work-Life Balance in the Visegrad Countries” (Website: www.visegradwomen.net) For 20 years we have spared no effort in bringing special women’s issues to the attention of the public as well as lawmakers. These issues include women's careers, work-life balance, lifelong learning and opportunities for women in employment without age limit.

THINK TANK: Dedicated members of AWCDH, well trained professionals in his or her field, are putting their knowledge and expertise in the service of the goals set by the Association. • A Forum of knowledge transfer with the participation of organizations interested in an increase in employment and the realization of gender equality (EU, government, economic and non-profit sector, scientific sphere, media) as a basis for an increase in women’s employment and a more characteristic representation of gender equality, thus contributing to the expansion of the labor market, its greater effectiveness, and the strengthening of economic competitiveness. • The AWCDH formulates and publicizes its views regarding women’s employment on Hungarian, EU and UN levels.
