| Purpose: |
FAVDO's purpose is to establish effective links of communication and solidarity among African NGOs; to provide African NGOs a forum for mutual aid and cooperation, by favoring the exchange of experiences and expertise; to create an environment favorable to the emergence of strong African civil societies and NGOs. |

Conference on Democracy and Governance held in July 1995 where grassroots communities from Africa gave their expression on what is democracy according to their culture and civilization. FAVDO participated in the negotiations of the United Nations New Agenda for the Development of Africa in the 1990's (UN-NADAF) in 1990 and its mid-term review in 1996 (FAVDO). |
