Connecting WFWPI's field activities to the UN Agenda, making statements, preparing shadow reports, consultations and advocacy with governments in support of the work of the UN bodies. GENEVA: Attended sessions of the HRC: 4th Session (12-30 March) , joint written statement on “Human Rights Education and Learning in the Institution-building of the Human Rights Council” (Item 2); 5th Session (11-18 June); and 6th Session (10-28 September and 10-14 December) joint NGO statement on “Followup to and Implementation of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action” (Item 8) and joint statement on Technical Assistance and Capacity-building (Item 10); attended the AMR of Substantive Session of ECOSOC (2-5 July) and held an exhibition booth of three Success Stories at the Innovation Fair as a parallel event. http://www.wfwp.org/wfwpi/library/unNewYork/2010/WFWPI_Statement_English.pdf

Social Development

Affiliation with other organizations: Financial assistance was granted to WFWPI in Jordan from UNHCR Jordan Office in the amount of 500,000 yen for the mobilization of 2,000 Iraqi refugees to the International football game sponsored by Norway Football Association and $ 6,500 for uniforms and equipment for a football team of 100 young Iraqi refugee players supported by WFWPIJordan. WFWPI donate financial assistance for the victims of the Indian Ocean Tsunami: 300,000 yen to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (HCR) in Japan, and $3000.00 to UNICEF through US Fund for UNICEF in NY. On March 4, 2009, WFWPI presented a donation of $6,700 to the US Fund for UNICEF for their efforts in Gaza to children’s health, education, access to water, sanitation and psycho-social support. December 1, 2010 – WFWPI Donated $9,000 to World Food Program- New York Office for the Flood Victims of Pakistan. Purpose of the organization: The aim of WFWPI is to realize a peaceful and harmonious global family. WFWPI’s four major purposes are: empowerment of women worldwide; the reinforcement of family values; a sound upbringing of children, and building partnerships for peace through the cooperation of women. There are two major areas which we work to attain these goals: 1. Poverty eradication projects through service projects including building and running schools and vocational centers; microcredit programs; foster parents and scholarship programs; agriculture and food aid; AIDS prevention program; sanitation and nutrition guidance and medical aid and 2.The reconciliation and peace-building “Bridge of Peace” sisterhood project.

On March 4, 2009, WFWPI presented a donation of $6,700 to the US Fund for UNICEF for their efforts in Gaza to children. March 1-13, 2009 - UNHQ NYC, New York. Organized and sponsored a Parallel Event during the 53rd UN CSW Conference on the topic of “Successful Strategies for Prevention of HIV/AIDS, a Responsibility Shared Equally Between Women and Men” March 2, 2009 - UN Church Center - 11th Floor, New York. Contribution of the Family to Peacebuilding and Human Rights Commemorating the International Day of Families - May 15, 2009 - UN HQ Geneva. October 29, 2009, WFWPI co-organized the Forum at Four, “What is really being done about crime prevention at the UN” at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NY. Sponsored by the Alliance of NGO on Crime prevention and Criminal Justice. WFWP Jordan’s Iraqi Project in Partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2008 and 2009. WFWP Cyprus Mobilizes to Provide Medicine for Children of Gaza Report on the meeting, Human Dignity, Human Right - May 6, 2009 Nicosia, Cyprus. The Opening of Jewish-Arab Bilingual Creative Kindergarten and an Israel WFWP Center in Haifa. 13th Annual Women’s Conference for Peace in the Middle East - May 12-15, 2009 - Vravrona, Greece. Concluding the UNESCO Decade of the Culture of Peace: New Alliances to Fulfill MDG 3 - WFWP Europe | June 5-7, 2009 - Paris. June 14-15, 2010: WFWPI attended the Informal Interactive Hearing of the General Assembly with NGOs, Civil Society organizations and the private sector, GA Hall UNHQ NY. June 28-July 2, 2010: WFWPI participated as an observer to the High level Segment of ECOSOC Substantive Session, UN HQ NY. June 30: Submission of WFWPI Statement was recognized by UN SG and translated into six UN official languages. It was circulated in the session.
