Office of the Special Adviser on Africa
Purpose: Empower women politically, economically and socially through information to attain equity and to have access to basic services and achieve maximum representation in all decision making levels as a channel to the advancement of the status of women, their dignity and quality of life.
Illustrative Project: Currently, NCWK is carrying out two separate projects one on advocacy and lobbying skills training and the other on civic education for women in Kenya. In so doing, we are helping Kenyan women to influence national policy, especially in decision making situations, so that the needs of women are met, first at the ground level (where the women are), and also at the national level for the equitable development of Kenyan women. The NCWK is the national focal point for the implementation of the Beijing + 5.
