Office of the Special Adviser on Africa

Purpose: IBFAN is a worldwide coalition of NGOs committed to the improvement of mother and child health through better infant nutrition and the promotion, protection and support of breast feeding.
Illustrative Project: Training of trainers in the baby friendly hospital initiative (regional). This involves breast feeding management, policy on infant feeding, international code of marketing of breast milk substitutes, sharing technical information, consideration of issues related to breast feeding e.g. child care, child spacing (LAM); HIV/AIDS (mother to child transmission).
