Social Development

Purpose of the organization: EWMI promotes the rule of law, civil society and free market systems globally, particularly in developing and post-conflict countries.
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: Working in partnership with grass roots groups, local governments and international organizations, EWMI combines legal, civic and economic initiatives to build just, prosperous and democratic societies. EWMI provides training, technical expertise and grants to foster sustainable reforms in government, business and civil society.

Public Administration and Development Management

Involvement in Public Administration: EWMI key areas of involvement in public administration are in governance, ethics and transparency. Recent examples of EWMI's work in these area include: Cambodia, where EWMI provides assistance to both the government and NGOs to increase the protection of fundamental rights in the country and promote the rule of law; Bosnia and Herzegovina, where EWMI has been working with key justice sector institutions, including the Ministry of Justice and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, to improve the administration of justice in the country; Bulgaria, where EWMI worked to improve court administration and helped develop a modern judicial training facility, the National Institute of Justice.
