Social Development

Affiliation with other organizations: The National Foundation for Overcoming Poverty works closely with other social organizations both on a national and regional level. We work with Hogar de Cristo, América Solidaria, Fundación Paréntesis, Comunidades Solidarias, in promoting research journalism around the topic of poverty, we have an alliance called Alianza comunicación y pobreza, that aims changing the view of the population regarding people in situation of poverty. We are part of the Asociation of Non Profit Organizations ACCION; also part of a smaller association of organizations called Comunidades Solidarias that work around social issues like overcoming poverty, gender equality, sustainable development, transparency, among others. We are also part of Populusaurio that involver over 20 organization with the objective of empowering local actors, communities and society in general. The FSP has worked with other organizations like Techo or Caritas to provide assistance after the earthquake that stroke Chile in 2014. On a regional level we are part of La Liga Iberoamericana and La Red Interamericana de Protección Social. On an strategic level we are associated with the Agency of International Cooperation of Chile, the government of Paraguay and UNDP of Colombia.

Purpose of the organization: Our Mission: Contribute to the overcoming of poverty promoting greater levels of equity and social integration, which assures sustainable human development of the people that living in poverty and social exclusion.
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: The work is developed from two strategic lines: (i) Country Service Program: social intervention in poverty, which with the participation of young professionals who live for a year in the communities, contributes to expand the capabilities of individuals, families and communities, supporting them in visualizing, activating and connecting their resources and capabilities with the structure of opportunities and; (ii) Country Proposals Area: which generates research, instruments and proposals on social policies with a rights-based approach to overcoming poverty. Since 2010, south-south cooperation has been carried out, making available to governments, international organizations and NGOs the experience in social intervention and social policies for the construction of a continent without poverty, more sustainable and equitable. The creation and consolidation of national professional volunteer programs in Paraguay, Colombia, Panama and Uruguay has been supported
