Fair Play for Africa Campaign Officially Launched in Accra, Ghana
A coalition of civil society groups led by the Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights, (ARHR), with support from Oxfam International, on April 15th 2010 officially launched the Ghana Chapter of the Fair Play for Africa Campaign in Accra. The campaign has been designed to get African governments to make good their 2001 Abuja promises for increased budget allocation to health care by 2015. It also among others, seeks to use the 2010 historic first-ever World Cup tournament in South Africa and the Millennium Development Summit in New York in September to raise awareness on some health issues plaguing the continent especially HIV & AIDS.

Launching of Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) Monitoring Report
The ARHR launched a MDG Monitoring Report, 2008. The event was held at STEPRI Hall, Accra on 26th February, 2009.
Brief Background:
The idea of a Ghana Civil society MDGs campaign was mooted in October 2006 by selected Civil society Organisations (CSOs) in Ghana. Membership of campaign comprised a number of CSOs who work through platforms organized around the following 7 thematic areas:- |

The 3 zonal partners are - Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC); Centre for Community Studies, Action and Development (CENCOSAD) and Centre for the Development of People (CEDEP).
The zonal partners (ISODEC, CEDEP & CENCOSAD) have institutional responsibility for managing work of the ARHR in the northern, middle and southern zones of the country. ISODEC is responsible for the northern zone comprising Upper West, Upper East, Nothern and Brong Ahafo regions.
CEDEP is responsible for the middle zone made up of Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and Eastern regions. CENCOSAD is responsible for the southern zone comprising Western, Greater Accra and Volta Regions.
