Social Development

Affiliation with other organizations: Affiliated with the networks of People Living with HIV/AIDS and a network of partner NGOs, numbering close to 1,000 organizations, in 23 countries of operation. Affiliated with UNFPA/UNAIDS Inter-agency Task Team.
Purpose of the organization: Upholding human rights and fundamental freedoms is at the focal point of AHF’s overarching vision, which encompasses the commitment to advocating for the rights of PLHIV, with particular emphasis on the most underserved, including women and girls, MSM, IDU, commercial sex and migrant workers, the incarcerated, and others. AHF has organized and participated with partners in the IAC opening marches as a way to collectively call the world’s attention upon marginalized groups who are otherwise largely ignored by the international community.
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: AHF is currently treating and providing care to over 156,000 people affected by HIV/AIDS in its clinics in 23 countries around the world.
