Public Administration and Development Management

Involvement in Public Administration: AIDA works to strengthen and enforce regional environmental law by providing information to decision makers, forging international alliances and equipping stakeholders with knowledge and tools to get involved. AIDA also builds the capacity of citizens to play a part and helps expand the opportunities for their participation. Our main goal is to promote legal advocacy for environmental protection by encouraging civil organizations to get involved so they can remind states of their international and national commitments so that they put these into practice.
Publications: The Guide to Environmental Defense: Building a Strategy for the Litigation of Cases before the Inter-American System for Human Rights is a manual on how to strategically and appropriately use the Inter-American System to protect human rights affected by environmental degradation. The guide is available in three of the four official languages of the Organization of American States (OAS): English, Portuguese and Spanish. Coral Reefs in Costa Rica: Economic Value, Threats and International Legal Commitments to Protect Them (Spanish).
