- to provide job skills to youth and women in order to have sufficient skills to make self employment opportunities.
- to make a sport center for youth to get entertainment and stop bad habits including chewing khat and drinking alcohols etc.
- to make awareness raising against Human trafficking and the poor hygiene. |

SOHASCO's ongoing projects including:
1. Counter Human trafficking with IOM
2. Hygeine and Sanitation with CARITAS
3. Providing Vocational training (Carpentry and Tailoring training program for 25 women and 35 men)in SOHASCO Youth center in Hargeisa. this project is funded by US Embassy in Nairobi and Community members have taken dynamic role. |

the total number of SOHASCO's members are 10.
and 14 staff, 4 volunteers and 3 consultants.
our Constitution has described and provides the organizational membership, the way that membership can be ceased.
3. Description of Membership Selection
If I am not wrong, The following Provisions of SOHASCO’S Constitution has clearly stated the criteria and the description about the selection, eligibility, rights, obligations, as well as the cessation of membership and is as follows:
Article 21: Membership of the Organization
21.1Eligibility of membership:
1. Must be Somaliland citizen at the age of 18 years and above who didn’t commit any crime.
2. Must not use bad habit and must have secondary education or equivalent experience whether in organization or generality.
3. BOD opens membership twice every year, and national who have the above mentioned qualification may apply. And the applicants will not be considered because of their sex, ethnicity, clan, color etc
Article 22.Rights of Membership:
1. To elect and to be elected/to vote and to be voted for him/her
2. To get information where the condition of the organization is
3. To take part the formulation of the policy of the organization
4. To participate the general meeting
Article 23. Obligations of Membership:
1. Pay subscription fee
2. Participate and fulfill the activities of the organization and whatever appointed to him/her.
3. Obey the rules and regulations and keeps the secret of the organization and must keep the sustainability of the organization.
4. Keep the appointments and promises and the meetings of the organization.
5. Refer and pass report whatever he/she did for the organization.
6. Convey the needs of the community, opportunities and projects to ED/BOD of the organization
Article 24.Cessation of the membership:
1. Broke any article in the constitution
2. Request and provides and receives a special resignation letter to the chair person of the organization.
3. transmits voluntary withdrawal notice of the membership or resignation later. |
| Affiliation with other organizations: |
2011: we started this year a vocational education training center for developing women's job skills according market demand by teaching them Tailoring and garment making skills and we had affiliated with this program with the US Embassy in Nairobi, Ministry of Education and SONYO Youth umbrella.
2010: SOHASCO with affiliating it's partner Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs conducted an information campaign on the increasing number of women's illiteracy. |
