If yes, explain in detail: KEWLAT is an officially registered Not-For-Profit Trust in the Republic of Kenya, that acts as a financial intermediary set up with the main purpose of assisting the Urban Poor especially Women, Access Mortgage Finance and Empowerment through Capacity Building. This is realizable through housing cooperatives and other Membership Based Organizations (MBOs).
Affiliation with other organizations: KEWLAT is one of the Women Land Access Trusts (WLATs)in Africa, whose basis of work is towards the implementation of the United Nations universal goal of Adequate Shelter for All and sustainable human settlements development, called the Habitat agenda, taking cognizance of article thereof which acknowledges that the persistent and increasing burden of poverty on women and discrimination against women amongst other factors, make them face particular constraints in obtaining adequate shelter and in fully participating in decision making related to sustainable human settlements.
