  • Non-governmental organization
Involvement in UN Partnerships: Yes
If yes, explain in detail: There have been several cooperations between GBG and UN sub-organisations and bodies in the past: UNEP as well as UNDP were sponsors of the 8th Annual Global Conference on Environmental Taxation (18th-20th October 2007) in Munich, organized by GBG in cooperation with the Faculty of Business, Economics and Information Systems at the University of Regensburg. The conference was focusing on the impacts of Environmental Fiscal Reforms (ETR) and other market-based instruments on innovation, technology and employment and included special workshops on ETR in developing, emerging and transition economies. More information is available at the conference’s website: http://www.worldecotax.org/home.html GBG hosted two sessions together with UN ESCAP at the UN ESCAP Brainstorm meeting on “East Asia Low Carbon Green Growth Roadmap”, which took place during the 11th Global Conference on Environmental Taxation on 3rd – 5th November 2010 in Bangkok. In this context, GBG staff also carried out an EFR-training for staff from the Thai Ministries for Natural Resources and Environment and Finance on behalf of UN ESCAP.
