• Scoping phase of a UPEA study on access to energy for the urban poor for the Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development under UNEP.
CCDI’s proposed project “Replacing Firewood with Biogas for Mass Cooking and Environmental Protection” won the Peer Choice Award at the World Bank’s Development Marketplace event which took place in Washington DC on the 8th and 9th of May 2006.
• A UNICEF Child Friendly School Initiative training project to encourage environmentally friendly technologies such as composting, rainwater harvesting and the habit of maintaining gardens in schools. |
Affiliation with other organizations: |
CCDI coordinates the Lagos Environmental and Sanitation Network LESN which was formed in June 2003 by civil society organisations involved and concerned with environmental and sanitation issues in Lagos State for collective action on such matters. CCDI is also a partner of the Policy Advocacy Project Partnership on Climate Change in Lagos State organised by SAVI and funded by DFID.CCDI was the West Africa coordinator for the Pan-African Programme on Land and Resource Rights (PAPLRR). |
