Purpose of the organization: P3 Foundation empowers young people to take a stand to end extreme poverty in the Asia Pacific region. It is our mission to provide young people with the opportunity to be active volunteers in achieving this goal.
Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: P3 Foundation has four main annual projects. Social Enterprise Competition: Highschool students enter teams and are asked to propose a solution to a Millennium Development Goal of their choice. They are provided mentorship and support and work through the Drucker Management Module to refine their idea and the winning teams are provided seed money and support to implement their idea. Last year the winning team, RAINEX installed rainwater collection storage tanks in Tonga. Live Below The Line: A fundraiser where participants live under the poverty line $2.25 NZ everyday for a week and get sponsored to do so. Philanthropist and buinessman Owen Glenn matched every dollar we raised. Funds raised are sent to P3 Foundation's partner organisation, the Glenn Family Foundation in Kamilpong India where it is spent on education, sanitation, water and health care in developing villages. World Changers Conference: Young university leaders attend a conference where they are inspired by various local 'world changers'- people who have succeeded professionally and made a difference in society. The students are also trained through workshops with project management, media and various skills which they use to then run their own projects to create positive social change in their communities. Pay Fair Trade Forward: The concept of Pay it Forward is taken and implemented in paying fair-trade drinks 'forward' in conjunction with Oxfam's Fair Trade Fortnight.
