Social Development

Purpose of the organization: - The main goal is to promote the idea of the international cooperation. - Foreign and security policy research, with particular emphasis on the geo-political research - The Euro-Atlantic integration of Budapest III. District /Buda-Békásmegyer
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: The Council of Geopolitics organizes international conferences and seminars as well as holding lectures on the questions of foreign and security policy. It also undertakes the preparation of risk analyses, the financial research to fight against corruption and supports the European young researchers. Numerous researches were conducted concerning the financial security of the population. The researches were made by the organization of the Council, and implemented as a partner. The results were presented according to a communication strategy through scientific and public media. We continuously keep and organize international cooperation, international conferences. We plan to collaborate with civil organization, research center of University and enterprise of tax advisors of other countries, working closely with the committee; we would collect the raised questions and the possible answers in research program. We plan a conference in Budapest where the Hungarian, Romanian and Slovak participants/speakers will exchange views concerning the Fair Taxation for Europe and they forward the common resolution to the decision makers and the Commission. The tax problems are the same but the resolution can be different according to the countries specificity. Each partners work up reasonable professional national approach in relation of the taxation in the European Union. Discuss this position with other NGOs and inform about the national tax authorities in their countries. To raise the national media's attention to the issues of Fair Taxation for Europe, particularly regarding the Tobin-tax. Young and active ageing economists and interested people participate at the seminar in Budapest. In the publications, new web-site and CD-ROM we will explaining the national position. The common position will be communicated to the country representative of the European Parliament and to the Commission. The themes are tax related issues in order to obtain a Fair Taxation for Europe. All citizens are directly or indirectly touch with the tax issues on citizens' daily lives. To encourage interaction between citizens and civil society organizations and to ensure the dissemination, on a new web-site we will launch our common opinion, by collecting the different views of European countries concerning tax issues. The information about the new website will be advertised for more than 2000 peoples - Active Ageing and young -economists, pensioners and lot of people, who can be interested in tax issues - by direct e-mails. The final research study has to be translated into different languages in order to be open for a wider public of the European Union countries. We start the movement of “Fair taxation for Europe” to inform the citizens of the European Union concerning the Union's fiscal challenges.

Description of the membership of the organization, indicating the total number of members: The Council of Geopolitics Foundation is an NGO where anyone can be member freely who accepts the articles of association, and the quality policy including ethical issues as well. Two areas are linked to our volunteers: on the one hand scientific research, including sustainability, social and geopolitical issues and analysis methodology. In addition, in 2009 we launched the "civilian control" movement. Within this framework, we analyze issues regarding Hungary and the European Union with volunteers (mostly former inspectors, prosecutors, current scientific researchers, accountants and auditors). We publish our statement in each case in the Hungarian press. We have regular relationship with the Slovak Atlantic Council; we participate on the Conference on security Policy, held in Bratislava each year. Currently, we regularly keep in touch with 150 volunteers, and our active readers of the Newsletter Number are around 2000, which are growing.
