| Purpose: | The YWCA is a Christian organization dedicated to the empowerment of women in Zambia for a better tomorow. |
| Illustrative Project: | Under the Women's Human Rights Project, we cooperate with the police service who have since formed a new unit - the first ever in Zambia. This mainly targets victims of violence especially the elderly, children and women. It is responsive when dealing with these groups of people in instances such as domestic violence. This is now treated as a crime of violence, whereas in the past it was treated strictly as a family affair. |
