Purpose: | To provide training in leadership, peace building, skills development, community development, HIV/RHC. To coordinate the activities of youth organisations in Sierra Leone. To provide the opportunity for a coordinated approach to youth empowerment through building consultative mechanism among youths. To create a database of youth groups and their activities, for purpose of advocacy, policy issues, interventions and recognitions. To report on donor funded youth activities. |
Illustrative Project: | Election period in Sierra Leone has been known for violence. It is against this violence the CCYA, Talking Drum Studio search for common ground and the National Democratic Institute decided to involve the youths into the election process in a non-violence manner by involving them to observe and monitor the voter registration process after 10 years of civil conflict. Produce a monthly production bulletin advocating youth empowerment "Youth Voice". |
