Office of the Special Adviser on Africa

Purpose: To develop a leadership institute to empower women, strengthen families, embrace children and youth, and help rebuild neighborhoods throughout the United States and countries of Africa.
Illustrative Project: In Zimbabwe the NCNW works in partnership with the Federation of African Negro Women Zimbabwe (FANWZ) under an institution strengthening programme. The primary aim is to strengthen the institutional capacity of FANWZ to design, implement and manage sustainable development initiatives in Zimbabwe. Through access to media FANWZ is able to reach out to women in rural areas through a development programme called 'Development Through Radio'.
