Office of the Special Adviser on Africa

Purpose: To empower resource-poor communities through the sustainable use of their resources.
Illustrative Project: Research: ENDA-ZW has done extensive research on indigenous seed varieties. Zimbabwe is prone to perennial drought. However, before the introduction of hybrid seeds, communities used to survive even in times of droughts. ENDA-ZW has, in its research, identified various indigenous crop varieties. The next research initiative is to characterize and store the seed in a seed bank. Participated in the African Advocacy Forum: Microcredit and Poverty Eradication organized by UN-OSCAL in February 1997, New York.
