| Purpose: | To stimulate the production and use of plant nutrients in order to increase crop yields and farmer's incomes in rural Africa; to reduce widespread hunger and malnutrition; and to make an impact on rural poverty and environmental problems. |
| Illustrative Project: | AFCD has developed effective integrated farming systems whose objectives are to enable farmers to achieve their multiple goals of food security, nutritional requirements, poverty alleviation, sustainable soil fertility, improvement and protection of the environment. AFCD has set up demonstrations at its headquarters. The next step is to set up appropriate demonstrations planned with the demonstration of farmers in different agro-ecological environments of the region. |
