| Purpose: |
To promote the economic and social independence of disadvantaged poor women and their dependents by increasing their access to, and control over production factors, services and facilities. We work with women in development for self-reliance. |
| Illustrative Project: |
We have organized 140 women (most of them are household heads) into a saving and credit cooperative. The members of the cooperative are involved in small business (private) by taking loans from the cooperative. The members have now established themselves. They support themselves and their family members by engaging in productive employment. They have established a solid institution/cooperative whose capacity to support its members has grown over the years. It is a financial and social institution which supports the members. |
