Providing socio-economic support to community based organizations in rural areas to enable them to attain household food security. HODI aims to provide logistical, technical, and financial support to enable programme implantation. |
| Illustrative Project: |
Namwala Cattle Project: Farmers have been assisted in organizing cattle clubs for spraying livestock against ticks. Farmers selected by communities have been trained as para-vets. Each cattle club runs a revolving fund to access drugs and extension services. The project has encouraged two local traders to stock veterinary drugs. The farmers are now diversifying to other areas of socio-economic projects. |
