| Purpose: | Development of technology for use in rural areas where electricity is not readily available; promotion of micro business enterprises. |
| Illustrative Project: | Through development of ram press, an oil extracting machine, over 5000 small enterprises set up to produce edible cooking oil from sunflower, groundnuts and sesame. Due to high demand for presses, a mass manufacturing plant has been set up in Harare to supply Eastern and Southern African countries. |
