| Purpose: | To mobilize savings in the Catchment area and offer credit to the poor in the community; alleviate poverty by providing credit for productive activities, to enhance customers. |
| Illustrative Project: | The Bank, through its inputs and credit education programme, provides micro-credit to poor rural women found within its catchment area. Apart from credit, the programme undertakes basic education sessions in health and nutrition. Topics covered include breast-feeding, AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases, infant and child feeding, diarrhea management and prevention. The programme currently covers 4,000 women with loans ranging from $50 - $500. |
