| Purpose: | It is the objective of IHSE to determine and analyze the environmental dimensions of human settlements and its various components; promote the role of communities in the use of natural resources and improvement of their local environments through the collection, drafting and disemination of case studies; develop, through partnerships in research, advocacy, networking and training, longer term institutional and organizational needs and linkages in capacity building. |
| Illustrative Project: | The project we would like to highlight amongst others is the "The Content and Relevance of Environmental Education in Nigeria's Educational Systems and Media Houses". This sponsored major study investigated the content and depth of environmental knowledge and awareness among different segments of Nigerians. |
