Purpose: |
The organization was established primarily to undertake economic, social and humanitarian activities to improve the general standard of living of Ethiopian citizens; to assist the efforts of people to overcome the root causes and effects of poverty, drought and war, through promoting sustainable development; provision of necessities and training for self help to refugees. |
Illustrative Project: |
Established the Integrated Rural Project in North Wollow where two schools and clinics were built. The project also raises 1.5 million tree seedlings annually and distributes them to farmers. About 150 ha of land has been closed off for natural forest regeneration and soil enriching trees have also been planted. The project has developed 2 springs, dug 2 wells, constructed latrines, and trained 23 traditional birth attendants and community health workers who are currently serving their communities. |
