| Purpose: |
To encourage Governments, civic society and external donors to devise effective policies, allocate sufficient resources and to implement initiatives that will substantially reduce poverty in Africa. |
| Illustrative Project: |
The APRN has a registered branch in Cameroon which has legal status as an NGO. This branch has embarked upon and engaged the Government in a dialogue on poverty reduction policies and strategies by arranging meetings and debates with various senior Government officials. There are increasing indications that the government is adopting more pro-poor policies. |
