View Additional Information

Office of the Special Adviser on Africa

Purpose: The centre is an international research, training advisory and information dissemination institution. It aims at promoting the development of environmental policy, law and administration in African countries through research, studies, workshops and seminars.
Illustrative Project: In January 1998, CEPLA in conjunction with the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development (FIELD) organized a 3-day workshop on the theme "Capacity Building for Trade and Environment". It was a forum for discussing the results of research activities done by CEPLA of Kenya and the Friends of the Earth (FOE) of Ghana. It brought together lawyers, environmentalists, researchers and government functionaries.
