| Purpose: |
To educate girls and youth on their individual and collective human rights, and civil liberties, within a multi-party democracy; to empower women and youth through knowledge; to encourage them to participate actively in the democratic process and in self actualisation. |
| Illustrative Project: |
Our project had focused on women's political empowerment as voters and candidates prior to the 1997 General Elections in Kenya. We started our focus on education late but we reached over 4,000 grassroot women. All the women participated mostly as voters, agents and candidates. We hope that support can be available to enable us to start our programme on civic empowerment. |
