Statements or documents submitted
to the Commission on the Status of Women:
Traditionally women are not involved in the village decision making process. A key to the capacity building of women is to ensure that they have a voice and are involved in taking decisions that will impact the people in a village. This starts with the establishment of small Self-Help groups (SHGs). The objective behind these groups is to help women increase their savings and access small credits, but gradually this evolves into a platform where women speak out and gain confidence, enabling them to voice their opinions in village meetings and become active participants in the village development process. Women often play a large role in building the support for the Womens Empowerment programme and are essential to the proper monitoring of government services such as: education, immunisation, childcare programmes, village cleanliness etc. AJSA continued its support to womens federations,in terms of of record keeping,Capacity building, networking and other back up.These have helped the SHG groups&federations sustain their work of grass-roots advocacy on issues of basic rights effective delivery on Govt. Programmes.AJSA’S effort have helped women to assert for payment of minimum wages, check alcohol brewing, demand better implementation of government programmes and assert for their rights.AJSA has continued its support working through women’s Groups. Without economic programme socio-economic condition of the target people cannot be develop.Due planning we formed Self-Help Groupes for proportion of thrift and credit activities.Hundred's of training programmes were organized in last few year's where Hundreeds women participants from Different SHGs has been attained and got training on management of SHG as well undertake the vocational trades, financial linkage, aware about market and profit, market negotiation, business strategies. Different types of economic and income generate actives were gradually introduced like opening of community shop, management of public distribution system, piciculture, nursery raising ,and food processing units. SHGs have increased the attitude for individual and community saving and undertook trades for their financial improvement. This supports has been crucial in enabling the federations take steps towards self-reliance.

Public Administration and Development Management

Involvement in Public Administration: Inspite of Various devlopement initiatives taken up by various Govt. and non Govt. agencies,it could not have made any considerable improvement in the quality of lives and livelihoods of the people even after nearly six decades of Indian indipendance. And for which AJSA had born considering the challenges of the region to reckon with todays society. Devlopemnt initiatives carried out in various filed's and area's,but their effective implimetation is still far from being reality, and the rural mass ,their main beneficiary has limited information and resources to mobilise for their rights, seeking to raise awarness on Devlopemnt initiatives by looking forward on Participatory Governance and Public adminstration ,and to help the communities mobilise,AJSA has arranged a series of village campaign meetings,Network meetings at G.P level and Block level, street play and cultural programmes in each village of our operational area’s since last many Years.
