Purpose of the organization: 1. To enhance the competencies of migrant women towards their active participation in building a self-sustaining community. 2. To provide skills training and alternative source of income to women migrant returnees. 3. To generate a strong public support in calling for employment opportunities in the country and the protection of women against exploitation here and abroad 4. Advancement of Women

Affiliation with other organizations: DAWN is a member of regional organizations such as the Coordination of Action Research on AIDS and Mobility in Asia (CARAM Asia) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women Asia-Pacific (CATW-AP). It is also a member of Philippine Migrants Rights Watch (PMRW), the Overseas Land-based Tripartite Consultative Council (OLTCC) and the Regional Interagency Committee Against Trafficking-Violence Against Women (RIACAT-VAW). DAWN’s Executive Director is a member of the Global Advisory Council of the VITAL VOICES Global Partnership.
