Purpose of the organization: To ensure that digital environments and content are accessible to people with disabilities and more recently/past two years, to ensure that legislation toward inclusion such as the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Accessibility for Manitobans with Disabilities Act, section 508 and the CRPD are implemented in their respective countries.
Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Advocacy for more information on the CRPD within Canada and globally. Attended my first UNICEF Forum on the Rights of Children with Disabilities in September 2013 and have taken two seminar courses (CRPD and Incheon Strategy) from IDPP to understand the relationship between regional and geographic human rights in context of CRPD.
